In 2017, FCPC held a reception for Frances Buzard who “retired” as the “CEO” of the Food Pantry. We chose to honor her years of tireless and selfless service by renaming the pantry “Frances Buzard Presbyterian Food Pantry.”

Welcome to our Food Pantry! We serve hundreds of Abilene families every year! The pantry is located in the Edgar Building, at the corner of Orange and North 3rd (see below for map and directions).  The pantry is open each Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is first-come, first-serve within those hours as long as we have food available.

Families in need of aid may come to our Food Pantry once every six weeks.  We will help if you have not been to another pantry in the last 4 or 5 days.

The first time you come to our Food Pantry, please bring social security numbers of anyone in the household that will be receiving food, as well as a photo ID.  This information will be recorded.  Every time you come to the Food Pantry you will need your photo ID in order to receive food.

During November, we typically give out turkeys and all the ingredients needed to make a Thanksgiving dinner on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  Please contact us ahead of time to make sure our schedule has not changed.

During December, we typically offer toys to families with children.  Due to limited supplies, we ask that you only participate in either the Thanksgiving turkey giveaway or the toy giveaway and not both.
